Nice beginning for Scooby Doo, 22 August 2015
What a Night for a Knight is a nice way to begin the Scooby Doo series. I first saw this episode when it originally aired in 1969. As a five year-old, everything worked for me. The haunted knight, the museum full of cool stuff, the creepy music, the comedy, and even the mystery = it all worked. Re-watching tonight, I was transported back to that Saturday morning. While it doesn't still have quite as much magic for me as it once did, I had a blast.
A few things I noticed this time that didn't mean anything to me when I was five:
1. How much damage did the gang do to the museum in the process of solving the mystery of the knight? The airplane that Shaggy and Scooby fly inside the museum is one example.
2. Scooby and the rest of the gang aren't much better than the crook they're after. I mean they broke all kinds of laws when they broke into the museum at night.
3. How far was that movie theater from Scooby and Shaggy's house? They seem to be walking out in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night.
Still, a lot of fun and deserving of a 7/10.
