Dinosaur (2000)

I'm not sure what Disney was thinking when they gave the "green light" to this film. Sure it looks good, but that's about it. The opening scenes are a thing of beauty with a dinosaur egg going through an amazing journey until coming to rest on an island of lemurs. But once you get past the look of the movie you realize how trite the story is. The thing I got out of it that disturbed me was that meat eaters are bad and vegetarians are good. Maybe I'm reading more into this than I should but with Disney's track record, I doubt it.

I bought this DVD for my 2 year old without knowing much about it. While he loves the dinosaurs, he has problems with some of the violence. It's one thing to have a character die in a movie aimed at children, it's another to see characters being eaten.
