Honey West "Rockabye the Hard Way" #1.15 (1965) (TV)

Honey and the Truck Driver, 3 July 2015

Honey and Sam are out to expose a spy ring preying on truck drivers carrying top secret weapons.

Other than the cast, Rockabye the Hard Way isn't a very memorable episode. After the first 5 or so minutes, it slows down and becomes one of the most action-less episodes in the entire series. The writers tried to spice things up with little suspense and drama, but mostly, they failed.

As poor as I find this episode, the cast is just the opposite. Anne Francis and John Ericson are joined by Joe Don Baker, Vincent Beck (who I immediately recognized from Santa Clause Verses the Martians), Paul Sorensen, Johnathan Hole, and Larry D. Mann. It's an amazing assembly of talent. That kind of cast gets Rockabye the Hard Way a point or two it probably doesn't deserve.

Also, and I hate to beat a dead horse, but what's with the stunt double the producers hired to stand-in for Anne Francis? Looks nothing like Honey.

For the episode's Name That Character Actor - take your pick. I've already listed five very worthy candidates.

5/10
